Overview
What this policy covers
In plain language: MyDeepStack processes the records you enter so the app can calculate and display your portfolio. Those records are not transmitted to the developer.
This Privacy Policy explains how the MyDeepStack iPhone app handles information. It covers portfolio records, preferences, local storage and backups, requested CSV exports, App Lock, and the limited network requests used to obtain public market data.
Local processing
Information kept on your device
The app stores and processes the following information locally:
- Portfolio records: metals, items, weights, quantities, purchase lots, costs, dealers or sources, notes, sales, and removals.
- Preferences: display units and currency, premium assumptions, cost-display choices, stacking goals, privacy settings, and refresh preferences.
- Market-data cache: public spot prices, exchange rates, and historical prices used to value holdings and draw charts.
MyDeepStack does not require a user account. The app declares no collected data types in its Apple privacy manifest and does not use data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.
Connections
Network services
MyDeepStack requests public market information from third-party services. Portfolio records are not included in those requests.
Gold, silver, and platinum quote requests are made to Gold API.
Currency conversion rates are requested from Frankfurter.
Gold and silver history may be requested from the Perth Mint and LBMA public datasets.
Like any internet request, a service may receive technical connection information such as IP address, date, time, and user agent under its own privacy practices.
The developer does not use these requests to identify you and does not receive a copy of your holdings.
Protection
Security, backups, and App Lock
Encrypted local store
Portfolio records and settings are stored in an AES-GCM encrypted file. The encryption key is held in the iOS Keychain, and the store uses iOS file protection.
Standard storage mode
By default, the encrypted store can participate in your iPhone’s iCloud or encrypted computer backups, and the Keychain key uses a backup-compatible protection class. Backup security and retention are controlled by Apple and your device settings. Unencrypted computer backups do not include standard Keychain items and may therefore be unable to restore the portfolio.
Local Storage Only
If you enable Local Storage Only, the portfolio files are excluded from device backups and the encryption key is restricted to that device. The key is rotated when this mode is enabled. If the phone is lost, damaged, erased, or replaced, these records cannot be recovered unless you separately exported them.
App Lock
When enabled, App Lock asks Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework to verify Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. MyDeepStack receives only the success or failure result; it does not receive or store biometric data.
Files you create
CSV exports
Purchase and sales CSV files are created only when you request an export. Exported CSV files are plaintext so they can open in Excel, Numbers, and other spreadsheet apps. Anyone with access to an exported file can read its contents.
After you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet, the receiving app or service handles the file under its own privacy policy. MyDeepStack does not automatically upload CSV files.
Your control
Your privacy choices
Switch between Standard and Local Storage Only in Settings → Privacy & Security.
Create purchase or sales CSV files from Settings → Export & Import.
Delete individual purchases, holdings, and sale records, or use Settings → Data Management → Delete All Holdings.
Deleting the app removes its local container from the device. Copies already placed in backups or exported elsewhere are governed by those locations.
Because MyDeepStack has no user account and the developer does not receive your portfolio records, there is no developer-hosted account database from which to download or delete those records.
Additional terms
Children and policy updates
MyDeepStack is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, its data practices, or legal requirements. Material changes will be shown by updating the effective date on this page.
